After graduating from Montgomery County Community College with an Associates degree in Business Administration, Emily decided to follow her passion for baking and pastry. She attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and earned a Bachelors degree in Baking and Pastry Arts Management.
Education and traveling have helped to create Emily's love for, and understanding of, food and agriculture. She gained professional experience in the industry working in Philadelphia, New York and she also had the privilege of working in Napa, California for the pastry chef at one of the few Three-Star Michelin Restaurants in the country.
After visiting so many inspirational chefs and artisanal creators, Emily has a strong passion for flavorful, high-quality and seasonal ingredients, while keeping presentation at the same high standards. This led to the opening of her first business, Colavita Confections. Colavita Confections is a delivery service of baked goods, from cakes and cupcakes to cookies and confections, serving the Greater Philadelphia Area.
